The pilgrim installs
a conditioned reflex
Having
programmed (read: ‘grooved’ or ‘burnt’) her Inner
Pilgrimage (i.e. her Guide System,
hence ‘genie’) to attain only one (‘as if’) goal, she proceeds to turn her
goal achievement operation into a conditioned reflex. The condition that triggers the reflex is the very next
step (i.e. the random (or relatively random) datum
inputted with/as the next step). The reflex is the previously installed (and held fixed as a
read-only mindset) goal functioning as
(or triggering) her (response of a) very particular application (i.e. her now
fully dedicated Guide System, anthropomorphised as her ‘genie’, ‘Guardian Angel’,
‘Inner Voice’, the Madonna, and so on). The
conditioned reflex (i.e. the automatic response) enables the Inner Pilgrimage
(the ‘called up genie’) to sort
(i.e. accept or reject) every datum inputted and automatically align the one
it has decided is perfect (because coherent) toward (hence ‘as is’) the goal.
However, since
the next input is (always) random (@contact), even if made highly probable by
means of goal, hence Guide System relativization, the inner pilgrimage (i.e.
the ‘guide’) cannot determine when the final (hence pilgrimage ending) datum
will be inputted. Hence it (often anthropomorphised as a named ‘she’) continues
its function until either the ‘as if’ goal has been completed as an ‘as is’
reality according to the schedule of fine details given to it by the pilgrim,
or inputting stops/ends for whatever reason, thus ending the pilgrimage prematurely. Setting up
the conditioned reflex (i.e. perfecting the Inner Game of Pilgrimage as an
automatic, hence spontaneous response) allows the (lazy, cool) pilgrim to
continue to wander @ random (i.e. aimlessly, as recommended by Meister
Eckhart and not a few Zen masters as the sine qua non of success) and leaves
her with sufficient mental processing capacity and programs to perform her
daily chores and stay out of trouble. The Inner
Pilgrimage function (i.e. her ‘genie’) will notify her (usually during the
early hours, that is to say, at the re-dawning of consciousness) if and when
it needs more or more appropriate data, or if pilgrimage ending is imminent
or has in fact ended (i.e. as a perfect solution, and of which the pilgrim
may not be conscious). In ancient
India, the next datum (and which could be (in fact always is) the final one
that brings closure (and with it first enlightenment, then nirvana) was called the Guru. He (i.e.
the final bit producing the perfect solution, wherefore he was venerated as ‘perfect’
or ‘perfection bringing’) appears when the devotee (the open, unresolved
problem, i.e. the still incoherent, hence unreal self (of the pilgrim)) is
ready. She is ready (and therefore steady, i.e. to fire, i.e. to make contact
and become real) if and when she has successfully installed her conditioned
reflex, thereby getting (her distracted everyday consciousness) out of his’
and her genie’s (i.e. her perfectly functioning Guide & Control System’s)
way.
