The actual sanctuary

Only when the pilgrim (on the outer pilgrimage) reaches an actual sanctuary (i.e. only when she attains quantum status) and touches it does it (i.e. she) become real, hence actual. Only when she enters an actual (hence real) sanctuary does she achieve real fulfilment, and which includes SANCTUM, albeit momentarily.

In order to reach her actual sanctuary she must complete her virtual sanctuary, and which is potential rather than actual. That means that she must end/stop/complete her (inner) pilgrimage as a particular unit (i.e. whole) of identity. Attaining a virtual sanctuary is merely preparation for attaining (or realizing) an actual sanctuary.

Only when the pilgrim (on her inner pilgrimage) has (gradually) become her sanctuary (i.e. when her dream (her virtual self) comes virtually true, because all alternate sanctuaries have been eliminated) and collides (in other words, reality tests) her sanctuary (i.e. her virtually fulfilled self) with the sanctuary of some other ex-pilgrim (presenting as a virtual sanctuary) does her sanctuary become real, hence actual, albeit momentarily. Only when she enters her real sanctuary does she achieve real fulfilment, i.e. SANCTUM, albeit momentarily.

e.g. The person who imagines herself to be a Moslem (Christian, footballer, cook or millionaire, etc.) is a virtual, therefore not actually (i.e. really) a Moslem (Christian, footballer, etc.). The person who acts as a Moslem (Christian, footballer, etc.) is an actual (because made real through the act) Moslem (Christian, footballer, etc.).

Arrival at (indeed, self-touching, or having transformed one’s self as) a sanctuary produces the experience of absolute self-wholeness (hence of @100% fullness, hence of total fulfilment) of a particular identity. Entry into the sanctuary, and which means leaving the enclosure-that-limits behind, and which means relinquishing identity (i.e. particular boundary or limitation), results in access to (actually becoming, as returning to) unbounded wholeness, to wit, SANCTUM.
