The sanctuary shines when it wills
The
pilgrim’s true goal, that is to say, her sanctuary (elsewhere called the Holy
Grail) that promises perfect (specific or particular) completion, hence
absolute fulfilment (i.e. of the particular, i.e. of a particular quality or
function), shines when it wills, not when the pilgrim needs it to guide her. Consequently,
when stumbling in the dark or struggling in the desert – the latter happening
when it does not appear –, its appearance is experienced as a miracle, indeed
as a spontaneous act of grace. Its appearance, and later on, its
reappearance, fills (in fact feeds) the pilgrim with an overwhelming surge
(actually a back-wash) of energy, transformed by her as the utmost joy. She
uses both energy and joy to herself fire up to continue her journey, no
matter what. Since
neither her sanctuary’s appearance nor the intensity or duration of its
appearance are predictable, the pilgrim must immediately ‘milk’ the
moment, then hold fast to the brief appearance as a guiding light (or image)
before it disappears again. Each time her sanctuary appears the pilgrim will
‘milk’ it for both energy (or joy) and the route information it provides. In
fact, the pilgrim seems to feel that the sanctuary is feeding her. The
sanctuary cannot be forced to transmit (or channel) its bounty (i.e. food).
Nor can it be forced to give more than it has got or wants to give. The smart
pilgrim will milk it like a cow, gently but forcefully, day by day at the
same hour. The
experienced pilgrim will soon become aware that her sanctuary (enclosed with which
she expects SANCTUM) tends to appear at a certain time or from a certain
direction, or under particular circumstances (like a genie or muse). She will then make
absolutely sure to be fully awake ‘at the right hour’ and never fail to look
in the right direction; and she will find ways and means of engineering the
circumstances that seem to bring about her sanctuary’s appearance. The
experienced pilgrim will not be despondent when, after only a brief period
and a small (sometimes, though, vast) and always re-energising transmission,
the sanctuary disappears again. She will then sink into darkness again, but
with unshakeable faith that her sanctuary will appear again and ‘feed’ her
once more. |
