The Buddhist’s goal
For goal read: sanctuary (or refuge) The Goal = Release from unpleasantness (Pali: dukkha), or: Attaining of
the deathless Release from
unpleasantness= Nirvana
For release read: relief from, freedom from, liberation from (Pali: vimokkha); extinction, cessation, annihilation, ending; ‘blown out’, extinguished; un-become, un-born, and so on and on. As the Tathāgata, the inventor of the universal
release from the unpleasant (in all its intensities) product (i.e. dhamma)
wrote on the package: ‘One thing only to I sell, release from the unpleasant.’ The product
